The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
The course covers child/infant CPR, child/infant AED, child/infant choking, and pediatric first aid.

In order for AHA’s pediatric first aid CPR AED training to meet Connecticut requirements, the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED with Supplementary Materials Certificate must be issued by an AHA Instructor to the student that needs to satisfy Connecticut requirements for the Department of Public Health. The certificate should only be issued when the Instructor uses the supplementary materials for the state of Connecticut.

When the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is taught with the supplementary materials and the certificate is issued along with the course completion card, the course becomes acceptable under State of Connecticut Department of Public Health Child Care Licensing regulations found at Section 19a-79-4a ( e ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( B ) and ( C). These regulations outline the minimum level at which a child care program may operate.
